More than any nation, military or political power, natural disaster, culture or movement… one man changed history forever. Not because He was the first, but because He was the Christ.
Generally, people are born to live. Jesus Christ of Nazareth came to die; in our place, for the sake of heaven and all humanity. Two worlds were brought together on His cross, but no one recognized His act of bodily intercession. When Jesus died, we all died with Him.
“The veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; and the earth quaked, and the rocks were split, and the graves were opened.” “The soldiers at the crucifixion were terrified by …all that had happened. They said, ‘This man truly was the Son of God!’” (Matthew 27:51–52, 54)
The self-righteous scarcely noticed – while the world waited is shamed silence.
